The 500 Bowls Award is a Taiwanese street food award from the publication 500輯 and rates each place one, two, or three bowls. These are the ones I've tried and written about, with the latest year and bowl rating for each.
The full list is on the official 500 Bowls site (in Chinese). I keep a Michelin Bib Gourmand list too. This page in Chinese: 500 碗清單.

Letian Mutton Soup (樂天羊肉)
500 Bowls 2026 (two bowls) · visited Sep 2026
Near the MRT exit by Nanmen Market. Get the garlic mutton rib soup, which has a mellow garlic flavor and tender, skin-on mutton. Add NT$10 and you get a bowl of braised pork rice too. Their garlic chili sauce has a kick. My rating: 4.5.
Wang's Broth (小王煮瓜)
500 Bowls 2026 (one bowl) · Bib Gourmand 2026 · visited Jul 2026
On Huaxi Street since 1975. The braised pork rice looked promising, but I found it salty and a bit heavy, and the tofu and duck egg hadn't absorbed much flavor. I skipped the soup because it was a hot afternoon, so this rating leaves it out. My rating: 3.5.
Hsiung Chi Scallion Pancake (雄記蔥抓餅)
500 Bowls 2025 (one bowl) · Bib Gourmand 2026 · visited Sep 2026
A scallion pancake stall next to Shuiyuan Market. Get the signature with corn (NT$65), add the free basil, and ask for both sauces. Soft and chewy. My rating: 4.5.
Years and bowl ratings follow the official 500 Bowls lists, checked in September 2026. Prices and details are from when I visited, so check before you go.
